Jai Shree Krishna
As we enter into the third year since formation of DKNS constitution, we feel more excited to look forward to another exciting and astonishing year ahead 2014, with an aim to reach a greater spike of success peak, with the help of YOU ALL.

The first year was a touch of base lining, getting everyone involved. The second year was a success beyond our expectation. This year, we bring some slight changes in event strategy based on learning’s to ensure maximum benefit to the DKNS Community, therefore we are introducing sports day with Ujani, a combined event to improve well being, fitness and enjoy participation

We also have a plan to improve networking and communication, so that each and every DKNS member is aware of news & events, to enable visibility and benefit to the DKNS community.

Our main focus to encourage youngsters in education, sports, cultural and individual carrier achievements will continue.

We want more individuals to come forward and take an active part in assisting different events planned for this year. DKNS Management is thankful to VIP Dignities, and Sponsors for fantastic Support provided in 2013.

A BIG THANKYOU to the entire DKNS community for supporting all the eleven events(click here) and making Year 2013 a huge SUCCESS.

We will be celebrating Navratri and Diwali at Copland School. This year, we have a full packed programme of events for 2014, click here.

In order to achieve a much better success this year, it would be fundamental requirement to have same level of support what we have received last two years.

DECEMBER 2013 MESSAGE

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU

ON BEHALF OF THE DKNS-COMMITTEE,  I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EACH AND EVERY MEMBER OF DKNS FOR ACHIEVING GREAT SUCCESS IN ALL 11 EVENTS including Diwali Celebration 2013.
(11 Events : Diwali 2012,
Kalimata Trip 2013, Isle of Wight 2013,  New DKNS Website Launch 2013, Ujani 2013, DKNS Sports Day 2013, Bournemouth Seasight Trip 2013, Ganesh Visharjan 2013, Navratri 2013, Sharad Purnima 2013  and Diwali 2013)

Other events attended and participated through invitation by Hindu Council (Brent)/VIP Dignities.
(4 Events : Holi 2013,
FA Shield Cup 2013, India Independence Day 2013 and Garba Rass Competition 2013.)

THIS WAS ALL POSSIBLE THROUGH A FANTASTIC AND HARDWORKING TEAM EFFORT DELIVERED BY EVERY MEMBER OF COMMITTEE, NON-COMMITTEE AND NUMEROUS VOLUNTEERS.

The DKNS UK Diwali 2013 celebrations held on 9th November was an extravaganza of pomp, colour, bright lights, fun and fanfare right from the beginning. Befitting the occassion, it concluded with a bang, thanks to the thumping support and presence of a massive crowd from the DKNS community.

It truly lived up to the expectation and excitement which was building up to a crescendo over the past couple of months providing a grand glimpse into the flavour and joy of traditional Diwali celebrations back home. The presence of the VIP Guests including Cllr Bobby Thomas-Mayor of Brent, Cllr Paul Lorber, MP Virendra Sharma, Cllr Daniel Brown, Cllr Bhagwanji Chohan, Cllr James Allie, GMB team lead by Tony Warr as well as members from the Hindu Council (Brent) Executives added variety and even greater sparkle to the event.

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, was an excellent occassion to throw light on and showcase the culture, integrity and spirit of the DKNS community. It also highlighted the seamless blending and participation of children, teenagers and elders alike, indicating the growing strength of the bond across generations.

Tabla performances, Bollywood dances, Kathak, Bhangra and live songs made sure that the mood and enthusiasm of the crowd never waned and there was not a dull moment.

Recognising and rewarding each student for their performance in  Education, Sports and Culture was also an important part of the function and served to motivate them to work hard and achieve greater success and brighter prospects.

Volunteers who had worked hard throughout the year on all the eleven events, were recognised as well; the entire Community look forward to their continued and stronger support in the years ahead.

As enjoyable and entertaining as the events were, the concluding part of this programme was indeed the most anticipated by the swelling crowd. The massive stage for Dance and Music not only brought to life the  true atmosphere of Diwali celebrations here in the UK, but also lit up many faces around, undoubtedly bringing moments of nostalgia.

We would venture so far as to say that this was perhaps one of the biggest and best platforms ever to celebrate the most cherished Diwali festival on foreign soil.

DKNS also made history by launching an official DKNS Hindu Calendar presided over by the VIP dignitaries.

DKNS also appreciates, and is thankful for the fantastic level of Support provided by numerous Sponsors throughout 2013.

Best Regards, Upendra Maugi Solanki
